POLYTECH LIGHTWEIGHT CONCRETE

To insulate your sloped roof or flat roof thermally and acoustically or to renovate or repair an existing roof insulation layer, we recommend the POLYTECH lightweight concrete (styroconcrete) types 20/80 and 25/80.
The POLYTECH lightweight concrete (styroconcrete) type 20/80 is recommended as a filling and levelling material.

All these modified styroconcrete materials are made of cement, regranulated (or granulated) polystyrene foam, the TECH foaming additive and mixing water. They do not contain any aggregate!

The type of the Polytech lightweight concrete (or styroconcrete) to be used and the thickness of the thickness of the insulation layer will depend on how the sloped roof or flat roof to be insulated has been designed and constructed. Our professional technical and sales consultants will be happy to assist you.

Key benefits

  • The thermal conductivity (lambda) value is
    0.070 [W/(m*K)].
  • Compression strength: 0.4 MPa (400 kPa)
  • Reaction to fire: Class: A2-s1, d0classified as a non-flammable material according to the applicable technical requirements)
  • The spread-of-fire classification of a roof insulated with the Polytech lightweight concrete (styroconcrete) is Broof  (t1) (non-fire spreading).
  • Creating a slope on the roof is easier. You will need to apply a layer of at least 4 cm on a rigid concrete surface or a layer of at least 7 cm on a deformable surface (such as polystyrene foam).
  • The material has a low specific gravity, which makes it suitable for use on flat wooden roofs or roofs covered with corrugated metal sheets (the dry volume weight is <260kg/m3 (typ 20/80 )).
  • The material can be used to protect the material that covers the roof (such as roofing felt) by improving its resistance to deformation when the roof has to be walked on for maintenance (such as snow removal in winter).
  • The material will fill any gaps in a rough surface.
  • The floor will be rigid, as the use of the material will prevent faulting of the insulation panels.
  • The floor surface will be resistant to deformation even after many years of use.
  • Good thermal insulation properties of the material will significantly reduce thermal bridges.
  • The material does not contain any aggregate!
  • The binding and drying times are short.
  • Mechanical application is highly efficient: (1m3/5-8 min)

MODIFIED GRANULATED POLYSTYRENE FOAM (THE YELLOW BAG)

Unlike all other mortars, the product packed in 200 L yellow bags is regranulated polystyrene foam modified with the TECH additive. Cement and water must be added in correct proportions at the building site. It is intended for making the POLYTECH lightweight concrete (or styroconcrete) types 20/80 and 25/80 (levelling and insulating mortars) in a free fall concrete mixer, a Kompatto mixer, an MP series mixer or any other low-speed mixing machine.

To make 1 CBM of the POLYTECH lightweight concrete (or styroconcrete) type 20/80, you will need

  • 4 Yellow Bags of the Polytech 20/80 modified granulated polystyrene foam,
  • 8 bags (200 kg) of the CEM I, CEM II/B-S or A-S cement,
  • 120 litres of mixing water

To make 1 CBM of the POLYTECH lightweight concrete (or styroconcrete) type 25/80, you will need

  • 4 Yellow Bags of the Polytech 20/80 modified granulated polystyrene foam,
  • 10 bags (200 kg) of the CEM I, CEM II/B-S or A-S cement,
  • 120 litres of mixing water
